Flagtour is a stir-patriotism campaign from state to state in Nigeria designed to orientate Nigerians (in Nigeria and outside Nigeria) of the importance of flag, patriotism and unity to growth and development of the country delivered through the National flag and a tour to important places in the World..

Flagtour as the name implies, is the tour of a single national flag to all the 36 States in Nigeria, visiting major tourist attraction places before taking an historical value adding tour to some other countries such as United States of America, South Africa, e.t.c.

The project was designed to tackle ineffective projects compounded with corruptible acts, a neutralizing mechanism, in a patriotic effort to strengthen the Nigerian economy through patriotic and unity drive, designed to be implemented and spearheaded by Patriotic Brands and Individuals of the Country. Soon enough, it is believed that unpatriotic brands and citizens will start gaining hope, love, respect and hope regenerated among the citizens.

The project was designed to encourage corporate brands and individuals drive passion and nation building spirit known as patriotism to the Nation. The profitable project (though applicable as a corporate social responsibility) is capable of generating an estimated revenue of over N10 billion. 

 Meanwhile, sponsors of the project will be capable of generating funds, apply different newly generated pre-plotted promotional strategies designed within the project on their brands while winning for all their customers Guinness World Records Certificate with their names on it and many other.

The project was approved by Guinness World Records on 17th June 2011 with Claim ID 304605. The intention of the Guinness World Records attempt was basically designed to resuscitate the hope and faith in our National flag while breaking the current British flag record holder. Guinness World Records being the best corporate strategy of advertisement ever known will be put into use for the Nation branding while supporting brands and sponsors can easily benefit from it.

The Guinness World Record attempt is by making the Nigerian National flag the ‘Most Expensive flag sold in Auction’. Many people confuse the record ‘sold’ to ‘make’. ‘Most expensive flag sold’ means you attach value to the flag and sell, while ‘Most Expensive flag made’ means making the flag expensive by expensive items, fabrics e.t.c.

In order to add value to the Nigeria flag before it will be sold, the concept includes taking the flag on a tour around all the 36 States in Nigeria, while it meets all State Governors, patriotic and eminent citizens, Mr. President, His Excellency Ebele Jonathan, Senate President and legislators and shall be hoisted on October 1st 2014 (Centenary Celebration of Nigeria)  in a grand style while it receives prayers from clerics from all dominations, better than that seen when Azerbaijan hoisted the biggest flag in the World in 2010. Such similar project was initiated by the United States of America in 2011, tagged FlagTour 9/11, an inter-stitching of torn parts of a flag around all States in America. Similarly, South Africa embraced a similar patriotic influencing strategy which they tagged ‘Keep Flying campaign’ to encourage South Africans to keep patriotism alive. The campaign aims to see South Africans maximise the momentum and patriotism shared during the World Cup has been given the support by over 70 big and small South African brand names which includes big name supporters such as Lexus, Vodacom, Toyota, Old Mutual, Checkers, Cinemark, Sasol, ABSA, Nedbank, Gidani, Santam, Spur, Nando’s, Mini, Clicks, Net Florist, Radmark, MacDonald’s, Litho Communications, Media 24, Teljoy, Ipsos Markinor, Spur, Media 24, etv, Internet Solutions, Dial a Nerd, Distell, SSI, Jacaranda 94.2FM and Robroy Music.

Similarly, another African Country that patronizes her National Flag is Gambia with a bi-annual concept they called flag of the National Youth Conference and Festival (NAYCONF) is a nationally accepted event embraced by all citizens and their Federal Government. Other practicing countries of the flagtour events include Ghana and China.
But the Proposed Nigerian FlagTour is quite unique and highly classical in terms of the proposed returns it will generate by the introduction of the Guinness World Records concept.
Shortly after the hoisting of the flag in Abuja, the flag will tour beyond borders of Nigeria to South Africa, meeting the most recognized patriotic African living, Mr. Nelson Mandela. It then proceeds to the United States of America to meet the first Black American President, Barrack Obama with a presidential handshake; the flag takes a trip to the Great Britain where it meets the Queen as a symbol and appreciation to the founders of this great nation.
After this trip, the flag is believed to possess a unique property that no other flag can ever possess in this generation ad many to come. Other properties that were designed for the flag include the unique fabric and the chemical preservatives that will see the flag still in existence for over 100 years to come.

 But before the actualization of the Flagtour proposed for 2014, the pilot project designed to spearhead the Flagtour project was launched on 7th December 2012 at the Nigerian Television Authority studio 3, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
